Course Background:
Combination products incorporate two or more regulated components with any combinations between a drug, a device and a biological product, providing novel solutions to healthcare problems for better patient outcomes. However this unique combination of technologies faces many challenges in the design and production processes. Special considerations that differ from the existing approaches should be taken to ensure safety of combination products. Therefore, HKPC is going to organize a 2-day training course aiming at equipping participants with essential knowledge on the regulatory requirements & safety considerations that should be made during the design, validation and production processes of combination products. Also, risk management is also a key topic in this course while the methodologies for carrying out a comprehensive risk analysis specific to the development of combination products will be discussed as well.
